The department of General Surgery of A.J Institute of Medical Sciences is a broad speciality department having facilities for patient care as well as UG and PG teaching.
The department is equipped with experienced faculty as per the NMC norms along with facilities for endoscopy, open and laparoscopic procedures so that the patients receive the best surgical care at an affordable price. Five surgical units ensure that OPD’s, OT’s and ward rounds run every day throughout the year.
Surgeries involving the stomach, pancreas, gallbladder, oesophagus are routinely performed. Endoscopic procedures like banding, ERCP etc are done at a discounted price to reduce the financial burden on the poor. The department can handle all emergency and elective surgical cases that come under the purview of general surgery.Regular camps are organised by the department to fulfil the surgical needs of the community.
